Partners in the justice system
HMCS is only one part of a wider justice system. To help ensure this system works effectively, HMCS works closely with all parties, giving the public confidence.
Supporting joined-up government
HMCS is committed to working closely with our partner organisations, both at a national level - setting policy and targets together with the Home Office, the Office for Criminal Justice Reform, the Crown Prosecution Service and the Police - and locally, through structures like the Local Criminal Justice Boards. These provide a regular forum for representatives of HMCS to meet with the Police, the National Offender Management Service, the Youth Offending Team and other relevant parties to develop a joined-up approach to tackling the issues that most affect the local area. These might range from identifying particular crime problems to agreeing how to share case information.
